With rigging and masts of twigs and cotton and a hull made of an upturned fox skull, this sculpture is roughly based on the famous whaler and polar expedition ship Terra Nova, built in Dundee. 

Always on the lookout for things that hold a little mystery; a small snakeskin, a flood-damaged copy of The Natural History and a stick of boxwood, carved for hours in the heat of the sun on an olive farm just outside of Florence.

Whilst attempting to animate this bird skull it transformed into a lamp. As the battery counterbalances the moving body, the carved pulleys turn and the lamp maintains tension in fragile equilibrium.
